Exhibition: Kids collect words of advice from authors and illustrators

At Storyland, we believe everyone has a story to tell.

Students at Storyland are encouraged to create stories and present them in form of an actual book. They often go to great lengths to draw eye catching covers for the stories they have written and put in beautiful illustrations alongside the obligatory title pages and dedications.

That is why at the end of every podcast interview we have with a children’s book author or illustrator, we ask the question, what is a piece of advice they wish they had received before starting on their first book.

We have received a range of answers from our authors and illustrators on the podcast, all of which we believe are inspiring for our young creators to hear.

This month, we put up an exhibition with the theme “You have received a postcard from a children’s book author”, where students can collect postcards that have authors’ and illustrators’ words of advice extracted from our podcast episodes.

Students and parents can scan the QR code printed on the posters to listen to our podcast interviews.

As you might have imagined, these postcards are all gone in just a few days (and are all inspiring students at Storyland in their unique ways)!
